The House

Ubuntu!

Ubuntu comes from the Zulu phrase "umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu" which means "A man is only a person through other people" or "I am what I am because of who we all are". Ubuntu stands for kindness, caring, openness, sustainability, sharing and living in harmony with nature and with respect for everything and everyone. It is also the philosophy of Marloth Park, as here people are on equal footing with the animals.

Ubuntu Bush House

Ubuntu Bush House is a nature holiday house for 4-5 persons in Marloth game park, a stone`s throw from Kruger Park, South Africa. Ubuntu Bush House has a fully equipped open plan kitchen with a stove, refrigerator and freezer, a cozy living room with a double sofa and two armchairs. The two bedrooms, with each room for two persons, have airconditioning. All rooms have patio doors that give you direct access to the covered porch. There is a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
To ensure complete peace and freedom, we bought the plot between our plot and the Crocodile River. Now we secured a free passage to the Kruger Park. A total area of 5340 m2 with parkland adjacent on two sides.

Of course you will experience African life and nature best if you live outside as much as possible. This can be done on the beautiful large porch extending over the entire length of the house. Do you fancy a nice piece of (game) meat from the grill? If so, you can use the braai while sitting around the campfire with a group of friends. Of course you can expect to be visited by a few curious baboons or vervet monkeys.

This part of Africa is known to be warm-to-hot the whole year round during daytime and it can be very refreshing to have a dip in the pool. Now this can be done in our newly built permanent (splash) pool. Or if you still want, you can go to one of the pools a lodge or to the pool at the Municipality.
Even if you travel as a backpacker by public transport, you can enjoy the African nature at Ubuntu Bush House. Our caretaker can pick you up from the bus stop in Komatipoort for a small fee.

The house is a perfect base for visits to Swaziland, Mozambique, the Panoramaroute and of course the Kruger National Park.
